Select one answer
Which statement correctly describes STOP signs and a police officer’s traffic directions?
Without a contrary police direction, STOP requires a complete stop even when no other vehicle is present. A police officer directing traffic takes priority over signals, signs and give-way rules.

Follow the officer’s stop or go directions carefully and indicate where you intend to go. If you stop at a STOP sign without police direction, you must still observe and give way before proceeding safely; stopping does not itself give you priority.
