In which situations does NZTA allow a driver to make a mobile-phone call while driving? Select all correct answers.
B and C are permitted examples. For an ordinary call, the phone may be secured in a mounting fixed to the vehicle and manipulated infrequently and briefly; a call that requires neither holding nor manipulating the phone is also permitted. The stated safe-stopping exception applies to calls to 111 or *555. These call exceptions do not permit creating, sending or reading text messages or emails, or creating, sending or viewing video messages while driving.

Hand-held calls, messaging and internet use are prohibited, including at red lights or in queues. Mounted calls still distract; stop safely before dealing with a call whenever possible.
