Use the boot for ordinary luggage where possible, but being in the boot does not remove the need to secure it against dangerous movement. If the boot cannot be used, place the luggage securely where it will not injure anyone in a sudden stop. Do not rely on a passenger holding heavy luggage or put it on the driver’s lap. Load size and other applicable vehicle requirements still apply.
